I want to know about the reinforcement of a Lift Shaft, I have noticed at one site that shaft wall reinforcement they have used two layers of 10 mm bar which was arranged in such a way that the lapping fall in a same level for both layers, I have asked to staggered the lap, but after wards they told me that they have checked the same thing with an other Engineer and he said it was perfect to Lapp in a same level as that will get more strength to the structure, I was confused as I am also a Civil Engineer, Please help me to clear the matter.
