Is structure engineering troubling you?
Do you face problems in solving even the basic problems?
If yes then look no further as engineeringcivil.com along with Er. Gobind Khurana and Er. Abhimanyu has taken an initiative to help civil engineering students in structure related queries. We are thankful to Er. Gobind Khurana, Er. Abhimanyu and Vincent T. H. CHU for being a volunteer in helping other engineers in solving problems related to structure design in R.C.C and Steel.

I’ve been looking for the answer to the following question but cannot find it anywhere:
What are the disadvantages/limitations of the compression test for concrete?
Thankyou.
how to post my project work in this portal sir.
give me detail about this.
@balaji
U can easily calculate the volume of chimney by calculating volume of hollow cone and subtract the top cone to get the actual chimney volume.
If at a site we have salty water how we will carry out the concrete without
spoiling the structutre
sir,
i am a civil engg. student. i am confused about ratios of cement, sand AND C.A. in concrete mixes(m5,m10,m15,m20,m25,m30…..). please answer my question……
thank you
dear sir
I have a B.s. in civil engineering and i m going to continueing my edjucation in master in britain.which of the courses of civil engineering is (due to employment) better in britain?

what is the full form of OTS in civil drawings?
Hello Sir…

I want to know what is the normal thickness of a Brick bat coba wateproofing to be done on a Terrace. If extra thicness is to done how it is to be calculated.
Thanks
is it possible to keep the cold joint between the single foundation and the tie-beam without treatement I mean chipping ( for getting a rough face )before pouring the tie beam ? because the contractor is explaining that there is only axial forces at these location and no need a bonding between new and old concrete.
@Jasdeep
Being in 2nd year, you should not focus on projects now. Try to develop concepts by reading good books. For example, analysis of structures , u can go through various books and try to make computer code in c++ or visual basic in excel. My intension is not to discourage you but to realize that this is the time u can study as much as u can and ask as many questions u want but after degree it is very difficult to go in deep theoretical backgrounds. so make best use of your time.
Good luck for your future.
@concrete
The problem of using salty water has to be studied from the following two aspects
1. strength
2. corrosion
1.-> if the fall in strength is permissible or where it is correct the same by adjusting water-cement ratio.
2.-> provide dense concrete and there is enough cover to the reinforcement.
Sir,
can u please tell me about process of screening. what is vibrator screen and sand screen? also about batching process
I will be looking forward 4 your reply
thanking you
