The CBR values are calculated after every Kilometer on a selected stretch of 10 km having the same type of soil. The values obtained are 3.8, 2.8, 4.5, 3.9, 4.2, 2.8, 4.7, 4.7, 4.0, and 4.5%. Find the design CBR value for 50% and 90% reliability [Hints for example- 50 percentile(% equal to or greater than) can be chosen for a design reliability of 50%]

Scott Banks says:

Hi there, I am doing a project at college about how high can you build a skyscraper, and I was wondering are there any basic formulas for calculating foundation depth when you have the load of the building? So that when I have an approx weight for say a 1.2km building I can calculate a rough approx foundation depth needed. I know a ‘little’ about bearing capacity, that is all.

Thanks
