ARUN RANA says:

My house, consisting of ground floor and first floor, was constructed 03 months go and the terrace of the building has been finished with RCC and bricks parts and cement material with rodi, dust.I makes sqares with glass on the roof. There had been no leakage on the roof till last some days.

However, after the heavy rains glass squares had developed hairline cracks, both on the glass and in the joints due to wear and tear), the roof on the first floor has become damp
Could you suggest a suitable remedy for this? Is there any suitable adhesive or any other substance with which the cracks on the joints could be covered to prevent further damage to the roof?

Generally, all engineers with whom I have interacted suggested that all the materials should be removed and new tiles laid, which means more complicated/more civil work. Is there a simpler method by which such damages can be checked? Can the fungus formed on the inside of the roof be scrapped and the roof repainted?

Nice to see the website .Breifly i introduce my self .Did MS structures in 1974 from POLYTECH BROOKLYN now (NEW YORK).I am a member of International housing society since 1975 .I have worked in different positions as consultant and Engineering Rep ,and now as constructor. I am trying to find the solutions for low cost houses .Considering clay and cement being the cheapest local materials, still the cost of a house could not be reduced. Pl inform the latest technology or construction methodology to construct the homes for poor ,specially considering alternate energy .I would like to provide at least 600 Watts for 5 hours solar system and a geyser for 4-6 persons.
I will be obliged if some more practical solution is given .
