Is it permissible to count soil friction for the purpose of establishing stability of underground tank against floatation/buoyancy. No rock anchors are possible as there is no rock encountered at shallow depth. Tank is constructed by sinking method and not by open excavation, as a result overhangs for base slab could not be taken.Ground water table is at surface level in monsoon. Tanks 10 meter deep and 12 m dia.

In bigger buildings like apartment complex I have observed that they have the roofwork and column raised before the the walls are raised.
But many times in 2 floor house or villas, the walls are raised along with the coloumn and finally RCC roof is laid.
Which is cost effective and which is structurally strong ?
If the method 1 is followed, there is concerns abt cracks developing along the ceiling or along coloumn, what could be the reason and how to avoid it developing in the wall and beam joint ?

Sir,I have to back fill with murum for about 4 meters of depth by compacting the same.Is it necessary to take MDD-OMC test(Proctor test) for every 300mm.Is there any codal provision for the same? How can weensure that compaction is adequate?
