This September, the Chinese central government has released Guiding Opinions on the Promotion of Prefab Houses, stating that by the end of next decade, prefab houses should account for 30% of new buildings (so far the percentage of prefab houses in new buildings is about 5%) and Pearl River Delta is one of the key region for promotion, since this region annually generates about 10% output of Chinese construction industry. What’s more, in the last decade, labor and land cost in this region has doubled, which has been a very heavy burden on enterprises. Therefore, prefab houses are in line with the development trend of this region.
Major Chinese Real Estate Developers Springing Into Action
It has been reported that Country Garden has announced to invest 100,000 million into their housing industrialization project over the next 5 years. And Evergrande has cooperate with Tsinghua University to launch research on green buildings and prefab houses. Challenges of China’s Prefab House Industry
